Milo Lazarevic Project

Located along the Hudson River the project is a tribute to the artistic legacy of the painter, sculptor, and teacher Milo Lazarevic. Rising up from the river is a series of landscaped paths and platforms presenting his sculptures along the promenade which terminates in a sculptural ‘object’ housing his paintings and ready-mades.

This sculptural object is less a building but more a viewing device that appears to float above the landscape. Designed as a form of both gallery space but also an architectonic telescope with panoramic views cast over the Hudson River and conceptually creating a visual axis with the artist’s homeland in Montenegro. In consists both of a physical manifestation and an imaginary vision connecting to the artist’s roots in anticipation of a virtual off-site structure at his hometown of Kotor along the Adriatic Sea.
