Providing the New Harmony Clay Project, a non-profit artists residency and educational center, with a new home that can serve its evolving needs and seeing to it that the artistic community has the assets it needs to flourish consists of the restauration of an existing pottery studio and the addition of a series of individual studios and exhibition areas.

 Located in historic New Harmony, Indiana, home to two Utopian experiments from the 19th century and a legacy of iconic modern architecture the Pottery Studio embraces the spirit of the community by integrating the design into its specific context, by coupling the private realm of the artists’ creation and the public presence in visits and workshops, and by uniting existing and new buildings through geometric proportions and selection of materials.
